EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE!

This never before seen footage has been made available for LOLApalooza only! Due to the hard core dance party the lights were dim therefore the footage isn't the best. Once our subject notices the camera on him he immediately retreats to the chair.

First Accident Report on File!

I went to Lola's school today for the monthly Parent Advisory Board meeting but before the meeting started I stopped by Lola's classroom to check in. I was surprised to find our first accident report waiting for my signature!! Apparently Miss Lola bonked her head on the wall. She did have a little pink bump above her eye thank goodness it was no big deal. It was probably better for both Lola and I that I wasn't present when this incident happened. She recovered just fine!
I asked the teacher for a copy of the accident report. She appeared to be worried when I asked for this! I assured her that everything was fine and I only wanted a copy for her baby book! (and the blog)

Here's a GREAT video of Lola getting around just fine without actually crawling!
This cracks me up so bad!

Dance Party Lola Style

As you know from previous posts Lola thinks Elmo is about the greatest thing ever, she is in complete awe of this red creature! She spent a good amount of time this morning watching Elmo and having her own dance party to the Sesame Jamboree!

Army Crawl !CHECK!

Lola is still trying to figure out this whole crawling thing.
Here she demonstrates her "army crawl" (while I demonstrate my laugh and Aaron demonstrates how to wear red & black checkered socks)

In other developments she's got 4 teeth coming in. This photo was taken last week so her teeth are even more obvious than the photo shows! She does so well with teething, if you didn't see them coming in you wouldn't even know she was teething. The below photo shows her top two teeth as well as the Kasik gap that will soon take over her smile!

Katie is totally awesome!

While home in Louisiana during the holidays Ryan sent me a text message asking "what size is Lola wearing?" I thought to myself "someone is getting a Ragin' Cajun onesie"
Last night we went to Ryan & Katie's for a wonderful dinner (shrimp stew). Lola didn't receive a Ragin' Cajun onesie (thank goodness!)... Katie made her this beautiful dress! All of the smocking was done by hand! Katie thank you for a great dinner but most of all thank you so much for making such a special dress for Lola, she will have it forever!

Who will Lola play Barbies with?

We would like to congratulate the staff at the Beck’s Files who found out the gender of their baby today… it’s a boy! Congratulations Joe and Melissa! This is such an exciting time!

This now leads me to the following question… where are all the baby girls? I’ve organized a chart of babies I know that were born in 2007 as well as babies that are due in 2008. (this does not include Nicole Ritchie or Christina Aguilera because I do not know them)

As you can see the amount of boys far exceeds the amount of girls I know! My sister in law is waiting to find out the gender of their baby on its birthday in March. I’m convinced she’s having a boy. The only other hope we have is that Debbie (who is carrying twins) will have a girl, come on, there are two in there and one has got to be a girl!!!

I’m not complaining, I’m happy for Lola because one day she will be able to choose from a variety of potential suitors but until then who will she play Barbies with? (besides me)

And since no post is complete without a photo of Lola here she is enjoying her zwieback toast!

Pitt Bull thinks he might be a cat

I can see where it must be terribly confusing for Bruce, he does live with three cats that easily fit on laps, he's not sure why he can't do the same thing. Of course I don't mind him on my lap, but we worry about the company... Thank goodness Greg appears to be comfortable sharing an old antique chair with Bruce!

Lola doesn't mind sharing space with Bruce either. Just this afternoon she was mesmerized by an Elmo video while Bruce made himself comfy next to her.

Too much stuff for one title

First off the staff at Lola's blog would like to thank Jeff (Rowan's Dad) for his spectacular idea of changing our title to LOLApalooza, it's a great idea and a fun change for the blog!
Second we would like to thank Dayna Martin for taking all of these fabulous photos of Lola!!! If you're looking for a photographer to capture excellent photos of your kid or dog let me know and I'll provide you with Dayna's info. (She took a wonderful portrait of Bruce as well!)

Today was full of adventure when Jeff, Joe & I went to the blood drive at work. For reasons unknown to us Jeff was denied... (it could have something to do with men and the country of Africa but I can't be sure) He did receive a t-shirt though!

Joe did well (the first 5 minutes)! Unfortunately this service man needed immediate attention when he began to feel faint. He never actually passed out, luckily his wingman Jeff was there to support him through the ordeal.
Today was the first time I was able to donate since having Lola. I received my 1 gallon pin, ya!

The staff at LOLApalooza would like to congratulate Company Grade Officer (CGO) of the Year: Lt Ryan Lemaire. Ryan was Lola's first non-family babysitter and also of Katie Lemaire's blog. Congratulations Ryan!!!

And finally, saving the best for last... I've figured out how to post videos! Enjoy watching Lola try so hard to crawl!

F the growth chart!

That's right, I said F!! According to this growth chart Lola is not normal, so today I used this growth chart for a more practical purpose. As George was working up a nice hairball I placed it on the floor under his mouth and splat! Then I waded it all up and tossed it. It served a much more appropriate purpose! Because Lola's weight falls out of the "normal" range it was requested we see an endocrinologist. From there we were sent to the lab for blood work. We received two calls one call saying her growth hormone level was on the low side of the normal range and the other call saying her blood work came back normal. I guess it depends on who reads the results. Anyway, with the blood work coming back normal they still have to get to the bottom of the Lola weight mystery. Today we visited the nutritionist. She reviewed Lola's food diary (this is something I had to keep up with. They wanted to know what she was eating, how much and how the food was prepared), she took Lola's measurements and spent a few minutes playing with Lola. Her conclusion: "this baby is PERFECT and you are a great mother, keep up the good work!" She explained to me that doctors are trained to react when something is not "normal" they have their charts to go by and if there's something just a little off they have to investigate. I feel bad for Lola that she was put through the blood work part of this but at the same time am grateful that we can rule out any hormone or thyroid issues, she's simply a tall skinny girl!

Holiday gift cards go to practical use

No more spending my holiday gift cards at the Benefit counter at Macy's.... this year they were put to more practical use like taking care of my daughter. I figured with the extra cash I'd stock up on supplies so I wouldn't have to go to Sam's Club for another 4 weeks! That's gift enough!

Lola vs. Warhol (and other stuff)

Most of you are aware that I am a huge Warhol fan but most recently I have brushed aside Warhol for the most wonderful piece of art I have seen yet! The piece above was created especially for Aaron and I as a Christmas gift from Lola, her teachers presented this to me the day before break. I was at a loss for words! This baby continues to impress me daily - she is so awesome!!!!!
A message to my designer friends (you know who you are Amy, Angela and Crystal) Watch Out .... there's a new artist on the horizon!

On Saturday we visited with Aaron's family for a holiday gathering. The kids had so much fun opening their Christmas gifts! Emma was so excited about her cheerleader outfit and pom poms from Lola & Ian (too bad the photo didn't turn out or it would be posted).

In other baby updates Lola continues to eat anything but baby food. I can trick her by feeding her Gerber Graduates, she thinks this is real food! This photo shows Lola trying to figure out what this lil cruncher is all about.... after a few bites she was totally into them! These are her new favorite snacks. She prefers mild cheddar.

And finally... today I got Lola ready for her first day back to school after the holiday break. She looked absolutely darling in her pink dress, white tights and pink boots. When I picked her up this afternoon she was in her backup outfit.... how do I go a week having her at home in her lazy clothes and the first day I put her in a darling pink dress she has a major blowout at school? Good thing I take a photo of her every morning before school. She does look pretty cute!
