got beer cans?

I was in the car with the children when I spotted this handsome truck packed to the max with an awesome beer can collection.

The conversation went as follows.
Ian: Are those beer cans?
Emilee: I think so.
Ian: Isn't that illegal?
Emilee: I guess not.
Ian: Do you think he drank all of that beer?
Emilee: Pretty sure he drank it all and then went out and bought that sweet truck.

I decided to snap a photo because you don't see this too often (even in Dayton). This post is really to honor those of you I know who happened to have a super cool collection of beer cans themselves. So Christmas Hero Uncle Jim & Dr. Brown... this one's for you.

Grace: best cheerleader of all time ever (Now with pierced ears!)

Lola and I attended a football game this weekend in Illinois where my little cousin Grace cheered her first game! This is a huge deal and let me be the first to say this kid has all the moves to become the greatest cheerleader the world has seen!
Lola was totally impressed and now thinks that Grace is the coolest big kid ever, and she has decided that she will also be a cheerleader someday (I didn't see that one coming). Thank goodness for Toys R Us and their buy one get one free set of pom-poms.

We are so proud of you Grace, great job!

(there is suposed to be a video here but the stupid thing won`t post, I`m annoyed)

kids on bikes

Here we have the children practicing their bike skills by riding up and down the driveway. Ian is a master on his DK General Lee while Lola just barely touches the peddles on her classic red Radio Flyer trike by using her tippy toes. She is getting very good and only had one fall and one crash into Gigi's car. No Disney Princess band aids needed. (thx Ooma)

Miss Priss

Lola's teacher made this comment to me today "Lola is such a prissy little girl" and more people than not have said what a girly girl I have. Of course I am totally fine with that and love having a girly girl! Girls are supposed to be that way.
Sugar & spice & everything nice.
SO... it was to my amazement when Lola was very interested in a frog her Daddy found hopping along the pole barn one afternoon. She even touched it's back! A year ago she would shake from fear at an ant or a spider and now she's touched a frog!

Maybe she thinks it will turn into a prince.

pretend first day of school photo

Since everyone is taking photos of their children going back to school I thought it would be appropriate to take a photo of Lola off to school even though it's not her first day. It's still perfectly cute.

Sparky

The kids went to the local fire department over the Labor Day weekend to pitch in and help Fill the Boot. Lola and Rowan (especially Rowan) love fire trucks so you would think that being able to see one up close and actually go inside one would be the greatest thing ever. NOT! These kids were the only two kids there AND had their own personal fireman showing them around. They froze up and wouldn't let us put them down.
Lola came out of her shell once sparky hit the scene. She was all about this dalmatian with human legs and tennis shoes. Lydia was also in on the Sparky action and even checked him for ear mites.
Crazy kids.

Grumpa: Maker of the Chairs

Dear Grumpa,
Thank you for delivering my new yellow chair to me yesterday, it's the best ever. This chair is more special than my orange ones because I know this one was made with love.
I would also like to thank you & Grandma for taking me to The Pub for fishing. I really needed a break from my parents.
I love you!

GrillMaster 5000

We got a new grill today and decided to invite our neighbors over for some hot dogs because who doesn't want a hot dog off the GrillMaster 5000? This grill has all of the extras! Below we see our host, Aaron, very comfortably cooking up some food for our guests.
It was like camping minus the camping part because camping is gross.
