Moving on up

I've officially made my transition to the "older infant" room where I am currently the only infant still eating baby food, the rest of those monsters eat table food already! And they all either walk or crawl so I'm left defenseless in a seated position. It's ok though, today I held my own, one of those fat kids tried to steal the toy I had but I didn't let go! He gave up..... that's right I was all like "back off fatty, go eat more table food!"
With no sneaky behind the scenes business I ended up in Miss Becky's classroom (wink wink Miss Becky). She likes to play beauty shop and sent me home with a new do on my first day in her class! She has also requested that Mom send in a bunch of clothes so we can play dress up. Miss Becky has 3 boys of her own so she likes to pretend that I'm her daughter at school. That's just fine with me, I love the extra special attention! Monday will be a good day because my friend Brody moves up and he will be in my room with me!

The tree is up!

And like clockwork the leftover turkey was put into the fridge and the Christmas decorations came out! I've been ready to decorate the house for Christmas since August and finally the holidays have arrived, yay! I'm sure this will be the best holiday season yet, I've got Lola!

Lola's 1st Thanksgiving & my 1st turkey

Ah, I did it! I made my very first ever Thanksgiving Day feast! Ya!
I don't want to toot my own horn, ok, I will... it turned out great! I was unsure about making my first turkey but after several calls to my Mom and one call to my mother in law I finally got it in order and the turkey turned out perfect!
My Dad, Step-Mom Joni and Grandma came to town from Illinois, they say they are here for the holiday weekend but I really think they are here to see Lola! She was very excited to share her first Thanksgiving with everyone. As we feasted on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, asparagus, butternut squash, steamed green beans & stuffed cranberry sauce Lola was less than thrilled to eat her oatmeal & bananas.
Bruce had a great day today. I cooked all those goodies that come in the pouch in the middle of the turkey for him! That boy was by my side all day long. He's curretnly fast asleep on the couch, I think he ate too much.
In other fantastic Lola news she has slept through the night 3 days in a row now! Ya! We've got our fingers crossed that this is a new trend that's here to stay! Way to go Lola!

The staff here at Lola's blog wishes you all a great hoiday season!

Really REALLY cute babies!

As far as I know this may be one of the cutest baby photos ever! These two make quite a pair!
Just moments after this photo was taken Lola did a face dive onto the concrete floor below... she's just fine and recovered in no time at all, I'm still a total wreck!
The kids had their second night of swim class tonight and are doing great! Both went completely unwillingly under water! I wish I could figure out how to post videos on this blog, there are some good ones.
As you can see below our little water baby is taking swim class very seriously and is doing a stellar job! I think she's ready to advance to the next level!

Introducing the new Esther Williams!

Swim lessons are a huge success! Lola entered the water with grace & poise and enthusiastically continued her lesson! Tonights swim team included Lola & her Daddy, Max & his Mom and Rowan & his parents. Max enjoyed the class and is ready to start training for the summer Olympics. Rowan wasn't a fan of the cold water and wanted to get the hell out of that pool! By the end of our half hour class Rowan and his parents were the first family out of the water! Poor Rowan, I don't blame him, that water was freezing! This is rare behavior for him as I've never seen that baby with anything but a big smile on his face!
Class takes place twice a week and Lola is so excited for her next lesson! I'm excited to put her in another one of her super cute swim suits!

BFF Makeover!

MY BFF Jenny is a fairly decent looking girl and some what pleasing to the eye but in desperate need of a makeover! After many years of the same look she has decided to go for it (thank God)! Her new look is inspired by the great Audra Lindley. She's decided to go with a shorter "do" and has expanded her wardrobe from the regular jeans, skirts and fitted shirts to the "comfy" look.

Awesome new look Jen, you are a total hottie! After 19 years of going out on the town with you I can now feel proud of the BFF at my side!

3 Grandmas 5 Days

Lola had Grandma overload this week!

On Friday we drove to Illinois to surprise Grandma Joni for her birthday! She got home from work and there was Lola, sitting on the kitchen counter waiting for her! As you can see by the photo to the left our surprise didn't work....
She was totally surprised and so happy to see Lola!!! She said "being with Lola is the best birthday present ever!" duh... of course it is!

On our way home from Illinois we picked up GiGi from the airport! Lola got to skip school 2 days in a row and stay home with GiGi! During this time we took her to the doctor for her 6 month shots, we were happy to learn that Lola gained an entire pound this past week! What a big fat fatty!!!!

Lola had her Ooma over for dinner tonight! Lola made easy cheesy chicken for dinner and Ooma brought an upside down peach cake! After dinner she showed off her sweet skills by sitting up for some time all by herself!

Lola has had a busy week of Grandma visiting and she has loved every second of it!!!

Spirit Week!

Last week was spirit week at school! Lola had so much fun getting ready for school each day. Monday she got to wear her jammies! Since she has a huge variety of Halloween jammies (thanks to Grandma Joni, Ooma & Auntie Moe) she was able to take a back up pair in case of a blow out which happened! After being sick for almost 2 weeks she had all sorts of goodies saved up for her diaper and thank goodness it happened at school, way to go Lola!

Tuesday was crazy hat day so in honor of Halloween Lola wore her pumpkin hat!

Wednesday was "character day", which basically means Halloween costume day but to please everyone we don't call it Halloween at school. Lola wore her papoose that day while her BFF Brody wore his pumpkin costume. The two were a classroom hit! And thank goodness no blow outs in the papoose!

Thursday was wild hair day and since Lola dosen't have enough hair to make wild I put her in her kitty costume. At the end of the day I took her to the office for some trick or treating with my co-workers. She is easily the cutest kitty ever! And thank goodness she used her litter box that day!

Friday was sports day. Lola isn't very sporty and has absolutly no sports gear to wear so instead she mixed things up a bit for a Friday Fun outfit! For the first time ever Lola wore a mini skirt and Brody couldn't keep his eyes off her! And from what the teachers said her other friend Adam tried to hold her hand! No more mini-skirts for Lola! Since word got out that Lola was looking pretty cute in her mini skirt Miss Becky stopped by to check out her super cute outfit. Lola is very excited to move into Miss Becky's room at the end of the month!
