Lola loves her snow suit!
As a mother I will do everything I can to protect my daughter and to keep her safe and healthy. It was exceptionally cold outside Monday morning so as a caring mother I decided to shield my sweet daughter from the harsh cold (31 degrees when we left) by bundling her up in a darling and super cuddly snow suit. She was thrilled!

First Halloween a success!
Lola went trick or treating tonight to her neighbors house and was a big hit! She knocked on the back door and sure enough Don & Alice had a treat waiting for her! A baby size bottle of juice! She was so excited to get her first treat ever! After visiting her neighbors we took her along for a walk while Ian & Emma went door to door for the goods! Bruce was also along for the walk, he got some goods as well, beggin strips!

cutest jammies ever!
I found the cutest jammies ever at the Gymboree about a month ago but I couldn't bring myself to spend $20.99 for jammies (not to mention that little voice in my head saying NO WAY, it was my husband). It was a struggle with myself to walk away....
We went back to the Gymboree yesterday while spending Halloween at Faketown and the cutest jammies ever were on sale! Yay! You may ask "Why these? What makes these jammies so special?"
If you look close enough you may just see a good luck garden gnome looking back at you!
Our Little Miss Lola seems to be back to her normal self, thank goodness! We've gone 4 days vomit free and she's got her appetite back! We're slowly reintroducing her normal foods and are waiting to see what happens in that diaper.... I think she's working up some goodies now!
In other news the staff here at Lola's blog would like to congratulate Maddy, Emma & Grace on their big win yesterday in Elk Grove Village for the best theme costume! Awesome job!

Halloween at Fake Town
We had so much fun today! Mommy & Daddy took Ian and I to fake town for some Halloween fun! Today was kids day and a Halloween dog show!
We met up with Rowan and his parents as well as Max and his parents for lunch at our new favorite Pub. Mommy & Daddy met Max's parents at the hospital while taking birthing classes! Rowans parents were in the same class too! I'm so lucky to have such great friends! Max was looking super cute as a lion, he was even roaring at the lunch table for us! Rowan (always the foxy dude) took it to a new level today and was so evil as Darth Vadar!
My brother was really gross as Leatherface! Mom tried to get him to wear a Native American costume too but it was a no go.

Specimen Collected!
Thursday, October 25 2007
5:03AM
We've collected the specimen, it will be transported to Children's Medical Center during my lunch break today! Until then it will be in my purse under my desk at work!
ssshhh... don't tell those nerdy engineers there's baby poop in containers under my desk. I don't ask them what's under their desk.
Lola is not Lindsey Lohan
Lola went out and got herself an ankle bracelet just like Lindsey Lohan however Lola didn't get hers by being an idiot. Poor Little Lola had to visit Children's Medical Center a week ago tonight.
She began vomiting and by 1am had tossed her cookies 5 times. I paged our doctor who told us to get her into the hospital since that much vomit is too much for a 5 month old. She visited Children's and it was decided that she has acute gastroenteritis, a pretty common stomach bug. A week has gone by and Lola is still tossing her cookies. Her GiGi took her to the doctor on Monday and lucky GiGi ended up tossing her cookies Monday night! (photo taken just hours before Lola "vomited like a volcano")
We thought all was well when she went over 24 hours without an episode and then I got a call today from her teacher "this is just a courtesy call to let you know that Lola has just vomited like a volcano". I picked her up and took her back to the doctor. She's on a strict diet of breast milk & pedialyte. No formula and no cereal! We've been tasked to collect a stool sample... I'm sure this will be a great success since she's got mad diarrhea right now! If she doesn't stop vomiting by Friday she will have to get blood work done.
During the last week Lola continued to be her super cute self and is in great spirits! She learned how to sit up this weekend! She sat up by herself for almost 1 minute, Lindsey Lohan can't even do that!!

An afternoon with the Ladies Man
Rowan and I went to a very nice park on Monday and enjoyed a beautiful fall day! It was quite romantic as we both fell asleep while our Mom's walked the trail. After our nap we had to pose for another photo shoot (will we ever escape that?). Rowan showed me his new skill, he's sitting up! He said "Hey Lola look at me, I can sit up! I'm the Ladies Man!" I'm like "Whatever Rowan, you think your a Ladies Man but I know your heart belongs to me!"
Then he did it...
he leaned in for a kiss!
Being the shy girl I am I tried to ignore this very forward move and I acted like I was really into the leaves.
I wasn't as impressed with his kissing skills as I was with his awesome sitting up skills! What a hottie! ssshhh....

Totally Pumped for Halloween!
I am so ready for my first Halloween! I've got two sets of jammies and two costumes! Not to mention this pumpkin hat my Mom makes me wear.
Today Mom & Dad took Ian and I to the farm to pick pumpkins, it was awesome! Mom helped me pick out a really cool one while Ian picked out a bunch for himself. We had a lot of fun and now that we have plenty of pumpkins on the front porch we are ready for my first Halloween party this weekend!

Lola has great fashion!
My Great Aunt Marge made this pink sweater for me when I was a baby. It was then passed down to my beloved Cabbage Patch Doll Jessica and finally Miss Lola! She always has great fashion and can totally pull off wearing a 34 year old sweater! The photo below shows how well I wore the sweater in April of 1974 when I was 11 months old! As hard as we tried to create an exact replica of the 1974 photo of my Dad & I, Aaron could not pull off a mad beard like that!

Pit Bull will KISS your baby!
That's right... a twist in most pit bull stories you see on the news this boy is full of kisses! He especially loves the babies because they kiss back! Lola has so much fun watching her animals, she just recently started "petting" them, we have to remind her to "be gentle" since her "petting" is really patting.
Here you see Bruce sharing a special kiss with his cousin Emma. Emma is his favorite baby to kiss because she likes open mouth kisses as much as he does!
And here he is with Owen. Unfortunately Bruce can't kiss Owen because he's allergic to dogs but they can have just as much fun looking outside at stuff!
Lola is very lucky to have such a nice dog and he is just as lucky to have such a nice baby sister!
Here are famous people (other than Aaron & I) that own pit bulls:
* Actress Jessica Alba has a pit bull.
* Actress Jessica Biel has a pit bull named Tina.
* Actors Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson have a pit bull named Penny Lane.
* Actor Jamie Foxx has two pit bulls.
* Radio host Ira Glass has a pit bull.
* Activist Helen Keller had a pet pit bull.
* TV cook Rachael Ray has two pit bulls.
* Comedian Jon Stewart has pit bulls.
* Actress Alicia Silverstone has a rescued pit bull.
* Actor David James Elliot, of Jag and Closer To Home fame, adopted pit bull terrier named, Jade
* Actor Michael J. Fox owns a pit bull named, Burnaby
* Musician Joel Madden Of Good Charlotte owns a rescue pit bull named Eazy
* Tennis Star Serena Williams owns a pit bull named Bambi
American Pit Bull Terriers are not generally used for guarding due to their friendly nature. Aggressive behavior toward humans is an uncharacteristic trait in this breed!

Lola visits The Pub
Lola visited The Pub, a new restaurant / bar at our favorite "fake town". The state of Ohio became smoke free just in time for Lola's arrival, she can visit any restaurant / bar and not be exposed to second hand smoke! Yay! She had so much fun and was a big hit, the locals loved her! After about an hour of partying pretty hard with Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy & Daddy she fell fast asleep.
Lola enjoying a seat just her size at The Pub.
Make sure to check out The Daily Squink & Katie Lemaire's blog pages for some more fun Lola scoop!

My Brother is the Real Deal!
Ian comes over on Wednesday evenings and every other weekend. These are the days when I am totally entertained! He's a master at Guitar Hero and has great fashion. He's a pretty cool 7 year old skateboarder. I don't much care for skateboarding, it makes me cry when I watch Ian and Daddy out on the ramp but I am a fan of the many family room concerts I get to watch when they play Guitar Hero. Sometimes Mom gets in on the action, she's been known to play a concert here and there.

It's October 1st!
Aaron and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary last night and Lola went to her first non-family babysitter!
Two milestones!
My BFF at work Ryan and his wife Katie have been offering to baby-sit Lola since she was born. Actually now that I think of it, Ryan offered to baby-sit back when he found out I was pregnant! Rowan tested the water first, Ryan and Katie successfully babysat him about a month ago. We decided to take them up on their nice offer. They are a perfect couple to have in Lola's baby book as her first non-family sitters! It's not like we want a photo of an ugly couple in the baby book!
The setting was perfect, we arrived and Katie was watching Britney's Worst Week Ever... Lola is very familiar with tabloid television shows featuring the ever popular train wreck that is Britney Spears! Unfortunately last night this did not impress Lola. Katie was very excited to hold our sweet princess and I was excited for Katie & Ryan to experience an evening of baby perfection! This is not how Lola wanted it! She took one look around the unfamiliar surroundings and FREAKED! Our perfect princess had her first meltdown! Knowing how wonderful Katie is with babies Aaron and I said "see ya later sucker, it’s our anniversary, we're out of here!" Kidding of course. I worried, not for Lola but for Ryan and Katie, I didn't want their evening with our baby to suck!
Aaron and I spent our anniversary dinner at the very romantic Longhorn where he shoveled in a steak and I consumed half a rack of baby back ribs in less than 10 minutes. We then reflected on the past 3 years of wedded bliss, NOT! We spent the entire time trying to figure out why Lola had a meltdown. We concluded that a few things were at hand:
1. She didn't have a nap after school
2. She was in a different environment
3. This was not our regular routine and she knew something was up (smart girl!)
4. Britney Spears lost custody of Sean & Jayden
The debit card was in hand when the waitress brought us our bill! We were back to Lola in just over an hour where we found her sound asleep cuddling with Katie!
Thank you guys! You're the best!
In other news Lola is still working very hard to master the skill of eating baby cereal and looks very cute doing so!
